- Load the crockpot Add chicken, chopped carrots, onion, celery, garlic, Italian seasoning, and broth. A common starting point: 3 chicken breasts 2 cups sliced carrots 1 cup onion 2 stalks celery 3 cloves garlic 4 cups broth Slow cook: Cook on low for 6 hours or high for 4 hours, until the chicken falls apart easily.

- Shred the chicken You can shred it right in the pot using two forks. Stir it into the broth so it absorbs all that flavor.

- Add the gnocchi and cream During the last 20–30 minutes, stir in the gnocchi and whichever dairy option you prefer.

- Finish with spinach Toss it in right before serving so it wilts gently and keeps its bright color.
