Prep Time 20 minutes
Bake Time 10 minutes
Servings: 25 cookie fries
Course: Dessert, Snack

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup mini chocolate chips

Method

  1. Mix the Wet Ingredients
Whisk melted butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla, then whisk until combined.
  2. Make the Dough
Fold in the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir in the mini chocolate chips just until combined.
  3. Roll the Dough
Place the dough between two sheets of parchment paper and roll into an even rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  4. Chill
Freeze the dough slab for 30–45 minutes, or until firm enough to hold its shape.
  5. Cut the Fries
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Cut the chilled dough into strips about 4 inches long and 1/2 inch wide, then space them 1 1/2–2 inches apart on a lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake and Reshape
Bake for 8–9 minutes. If needed, gently reshape the sides while warm, then bake for another 1–2 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
  7. Cool and Serve
Let the cookie fries cool on the baking sheet for 5–10 minutes. Add extra chocolate chips or flaky sea salt if desired, then serve with your favorite dip.
