Blueberry Smoothie

Prep Time 5 minutes
Servings: 2 servings
Course: Dessert

Ingredients

  • cups frozen blueberries
  • 1 frozen banana
  • ¾ cup milk, almond milk, oat milk, or soy milk
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1-2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup, optional

Method

  1. Pour ¾ cup milk or your chosen liquid into the blender first. This helps the blades move smoothly and prevents frozen fruit from getting stuck.
  2. Add banana, yogurt, vanilla, and any sweetener. These softer ingredients blend more easily when they sit closer to the blades.
  3. Add frozen blueberries last, along with any extras like chia seeds, oats, spinach, nut butter, or protein powder.
  4. Blend on low, then increase to high for 30–60 seconds. If the blender stalls, scrape the sides and add 1–2 tablespoons of milk.
  5. Taste and adjust the texture or sweetness. Add milk if too thick, more frozen fruit if too thin, or a little honey if too tart. Pour into glasses and serve cold.
