Prepare the BBQ Chicken
Start with cooked chicken.
Rotisserie chicken from the grocery store works beautifully here—it saves at least 20 minutes.
Shred about three cups of chicken using two forks. Then mix it with your barbecue sauce in a bowl.
You want the chicken fully coated but not swimming in sauce.
Let the mixture sit for a few minutes so the flavor settles into the meat.
Slice the Slider Rolls
Keep the rolls connected.
Using a long knife, slice the entire sheet of rolls horizontally so you have one large bottom layer and one top layer.
Place the bottom half into a 9×13 baking dish.
A quick optional trick: toast the bottom buns lightly for a couple minutes if you like extra texture.
Layer the Filling
Spread the BBQ chicken evenly over the rolls.
Next comes the cheese. Sprinkle it across the chicken so it melts into every bite.
If you’re adding extras—pickles, onions, or jalapeños—layer them here.
Then place the top half of the rolls back over everything.
It should look like one giant sandwich.
And honestly, it already smells good.
Brush with Garlic Butter
Mix the melted butter with garlic powder, onion powder, and parsley.
Brush the mixture across the tops of the rolls.
This step may seem small—but it creates that golden, slightly crisp top layer that makes sliders irresistible.
Some cooks sprinkle sesame seeds here too. Not required, but a nice touch.
Bake the Sliders
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
Cover the baking dish loosely with foil and bake for about 15 minutes.
Then remove the foil and bake another 5 minutes.
The tops should turn golden and the cheese should be melted and bubbly.
Let the sliders rest for a couple minutes before cutting them apart.
