Method
- Preheat and prepare the pan.Preheat the oven to 400°F for plain Bacon Twists, or 350°F–375°F for sweet or candied versions. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil or parchment, then add a wire rack if you want crispier bacon.

- Twist the bacon.Hold each bacon strip at both ends and twist tightly from end to end. Place the twists in a single layer on the prepared pan or rack. Keep them close, but don’t stack them.

- Add flavor if desired.Leave plain Bacon Twists as they are, or sprinkle with black pepper. For a sweet version, add brown sugar, maple syrup, and a small pinch of cayenne.

- Bake until crisp.Bake at 400°F for about 20 minutes, then flip and bake another 10–15 minutes, until browned and crisp. For sweet or thick-cut bacon, bake at a lower temperature and watch closely near the end.

- Drain and cool.Transfer the Bacon Twists to paper towels or a clean rack. Let them cool for 3–5 minutes before serving, since bacon crisps more as it rests.
